Measure

It was an imense pleasure to play a part in bringing the work of Sarah Maple to the Middlesbrough ArtWeek in 2023. Sarah’s work Labour of Love dominated the main exhibition hub in the Auxiliary Project Space.

Sarah gave a talk as part of the MOTHEROTHER programme at MAW 23, discussing her work and exploring ideas of what it means to be unseen as a mother, to cary out unseen labour and the impact of intersectional issues surrounding upbringing, heritage and culture. She was joined in the discussion by artist Nic Golightly and founder of BOK BOK Books Rumana Yasmine.
