MOTHEROTHER

Community Socials

@ The NewBridge Project

If you are a parent or carer in the North East area who would like to meet up with others and get creative, then why not join us at our MOTHEROTHER socials? Come and share the caring through relaxed and friendly sessions designed with the needs of the caregiver in mind.

What are these community sessions all about?

These free sessions are all about you, the caregiver, having a little time to spend with other adults in caring roles to chat, share experinces and enjoy creative activity.

You can attend with or without your dependant. Your dependant maybe a child or adult who relies on you for care.

All of the workshops will have interactive, no experience needed, creative activities lead by an artist. You can enjoy some light refreshments while meeting and making with other parents and carers form the local area. Through these welcoming and informal sessions, we hope that you will:

  • Take time for yourself to relax

  • Feel an improved sense of clam and wellbeing

  • Get to know other parents and carers in the area

  • Enjoy getting creative!

These social sessions, based at The NewBridge Project, evolve through shared ideas and interests and offer an opportunity to meet and socialise with others.

Each session is designed to promote caregiver wellbeing through communal gathering and creative exploration.

Comfort and Accessibility

Though we may not be able to meet all needs, we are aiming to make these events as caregiver and dependant-friendly as possible. We appreciate that everyone’s circumstances will be different, so we will be asking for some details to help us cater for you and your dependant if they will be accompanying you. Please be reassured that any information you share with us will be private and confidential. We may need to contact you to find out more about the support you to require.

Greeters will be ready to welcome you at the entrance to The NewBridge Project from 12.50pm.

We have a buggy park, changing table, quite/semi-private spaces for breastfeeding, limited onsite dependant care.

The events have a relaxed approach to dependant interruption as well as the need to come and go throughout – no explanations or apologies required!

Light refreshments will be made available throughout the session.
